Deadlines?

What is it about having a deadline that makes you get it all together and get it done. There is nothing like a looming finish line that make me more motivated. My husband does not quite understand this lovely adhd procrastination hack and loves to tell me we'll have a big party when the house it finish.....I can't convince him that the house will be finished once the big party is on the calendar. My Mom has agreed to come stay the night on Mother's Day to watch L while we go out (to see the roast of Kevin Hart!!!), plus of course celebrating Mother's Day with her as well.

But my Mom coming to stay with us means we need to get the guest room and adjoining bathroom in tip-top shape.... I need to look at the calendar to even see how many days we have to go...let's look. Ok, I just counted there are 24 days until Mother's day but 9 of those days are weekends or days off school which limits how much I can realistically get done. So I have got to get moving.

I'm going to prioratize the things that are necessary to make the bathroom and bedroom actually functional then work on the finishing details. I've got some research to do before I can add the sealant and waterproofing but that is priority number one. After that I can install the shower hardware and glass and toilet which are all pretty esential to the function of the bathroom. Next will be the vanity tile and niche area. which, when I get going they'll be pretty quick but still will take a day or two.

I almost forgot I still have to buy all the little random stuff for the room like toilet paper holder and towel holders.... I haven't even thought about what kind of style I want in there yet...I really have some work to do....

Well, my intent with this post was to calmly show myself that I have plenty of time to accomplish everything I want to before Mother's Day but I fear I have done the opposite... I have no idea how I'm going to get all this done in basically 2 weeks.... We have an interview with a baby sitter today so hopefully she is good and gets along with L so we can have her come on weekends to add a bit of time. Fingers crossed.

I need to compromise between my desire to get everything finished quickly and my desire to have the most perfect room in history...Let's see how this plays out.
